heart of the city

gary hustwit has announced he will be creating a third film, urbanized, to add to his design documentary collection.  the film will focus on cities, architects and people who have made a difference in their urban community.  the film will launch in 2011.  in the meantime, if you haven't seen hustwit's first two films, helvetica and objectified, add them to your netflix list.  via fast company

oh yeah

oh wow.  and they aren't  kidding.  ohwow is a more than appropriate name for the creative collective who's goal is to connect artists and their proposed ideas with a community of others who have the experience and resources to execute the given project.  ohwow hosts a variety of events across the world with roots at ohwow in miami and the ohwow book club in new york.  i am loving the book club's turquoise and metallic wallpaper and shelving inspired by navajo patterns.  both very cool venues are designed by architect rafael decardenas of architecture at large.

look at you

new york city!!! its so great to be back! i have had the opportunity to stay at the hudson hotel while in town for my first and long awaited visit to the international contemporary furniture fair. the hotel accomplishes mixing a variety of styles without feeling disconnected with its acid yellow glass accents and mod meets traditional interior. love it!

its always nice to discover a cool new blog. today i found minimalissimo, dedicated only to minimalism and they follow merlin mann's rules for blogging: "find your obsession. everyday, explain it to one person you respect. edit everything, skip shortcuts, and try not to be a dick. get better." love it. above is romolo stanco's hi-fi house in italy. check out minimalissimo. they even supply mixtapes to blog to. hot.
